Dominic Wright is an award-winning composer based in London, where he is currently pursuing a degree in composition at the highly prestigious Guildhall School of Music and Drama under the supervision of renowned composer Matthew Kaner.

His music has been described as “beautiful” and “most haunting and effective” by double Grammy award winning composer Christopher Tin (Civilization video game series).

Recent successes include the world premiere of his piece for choir and orchestra ‘Waves of Song’, with words by renowned poet Ian McMillan, and the release of ‘Coronavirus String Quartet’ which was funded by a highly successful Kickstarter campaign.

His musical training began at an early age with piano lessons, quickly followed by violin, French horn and singing lessons. He is an accomplished singer having sung on live radio broadcast for the BBC and commercially released records. He is an alumni of the National Youth Choirs of Great Britain and has sung in prestigious venues such as the Royal Albert Hall, the Barbican and the Sage Gateshead.

Hailing from East Yorkshire, his work has been performed across Hull and East Yorkshire, most notably at Hull Minster. He has made several appearances across local media including BBC Radio Humberside, BBC Look North and the Yorkshire Post.

In 2015 he was taken seriously ill and went on to suffer many years of debilitating ill health. Since his recovery in 2019 he has been working hard to begin to forge what he intends to be an exciting, dynamic, and trailblazing career as a composer.
